Privacy Policy
We collect as little as possible: a nickname, your game scores and any feedback you choose to send.
Version 2026-10-30 · Last updated: 31 October 2026
Who we are
MindCohort is run by Saurabh Singh in India. For this website we are the "data fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act): we decide what data is collected and why. Contact: mind.cohort.tr@gmail.com
What we collect and why
- Your nickname, to show you on the leaderboards. Please don't use your real name.
- Your game results (game, level, date, time, moves, correct answers, hints or sequence length), to run the leaderboards fairly. Our server records when each game starts and ends to stop cheating.
- A random player code, stored in your browser, so the leaderboard knows which scores are yours. It isn't linked to who you are.
- Your consent record: the date you agreed to this policy and which version, so we can show your consent was given.
- Feedback you choose to send after a game: a 1–5 star rating and an optional comment, to improve the games. Please don't put personal details in comments.
We never ask for your email, phone number, age, address, real name or location. There are no passwords, and we don't use your data to build profiles or for advertising.
Consent
We process your data based on your consent, which you give when you choose a nickname by ticking the boxes. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your data (see below). The games keep working without an account on this device, but you won't appear on leaderboards.
Children
MindCohort is a family site. Players under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian before choosing a nickname, as the DPDP Act requires for children. We collect only a nickname and scores, we don't track children's behaviour, and we don't show ads aimed at children. If you're a parent and believe your child gave us information without permission, contact us and we'll delete it.
What stays on your device
Your browser keeps your nickname, player code, consent choice, progress (personal bests, streaks, badges), friends list and settings in local storage, not in cookies. This isn't sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Optional daily reminders
If you tap Remind me daily and allow notifications, your browser gives us an anonymous push address to send one reminder a day. It isn't linked to your nickname. Turning reminders off deletes it.
Challenge links
A challenge link contains the game board, your result and your nickname, so your friend can see what to beat. Share it only with people you're happy to share that with.
Who processes the data
Scores, nicknames and feedback are stored with Supabase (our database provider), and the website is served by Cloudflare. They process data only to provide these services to us.
Advertising
To keep MindCohort free, we show ads from Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show ads based on those visits.
You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where the law requires it, you'll be asked for consent first, and ads won't be personalised for children.
How long we keep data
- Nicknames and scores: while your nickname exists, or until you delete it.
- Unfinished games: deleted after about a week.
- Feedback: up to two years, or until you delete your data.
- When you delete your data, it's erased from our database immediately.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access: ask what data we hold about you. Your nickname and scores are visible on the site, and you can email us for a full summary.
- Correction: change your nickname at any time with Change in the header.
- Erasure: delete your nickname, scores and feedback yourself, instantly, on My progress → Delete my data. Or email us with your nickname.
- Withdraw consent: deleting your data withdraws it.
- Grievance redressal: complain to us, and if you're not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you're unable to. Email us to set this up.

Security
Our database is locked so that browsers can't read or change it directly. Every action goes through checked functions, and the connection is encrypted (HTTPS). Your player code is stored only as a one-way fingerprint on our server.
Changes
If this policy changes in an important way, we'll update the version and date above and ask you to agree again before you next play.
